SpicyChat Alternatives, and What Each One Fixes
SpicyChat puts memory, pictures and voice on three different rungs. Five alternatives, each matched to the rung you are tired of climbing, and where each one falls short.

Most people looking for SpicyChat alternatives are not unhappy with the characters. They are unhappy with something on the pricing page: the memory they can afford, the queue, the ads, or the tier where pictures finally switch on. This post starts from those, using SpicyChat's own published tiers, and matches each one to a platform that handles it differently. One of them is Jizzy, which is ours.
Every fact about another platform comes from its own pages, read on October 14 and 15, 2026, and the links are in the sources at the end. We did not test paid plans for this piece.
What SpicyChat gets right
Credit first. SpicyChat's documentation says its core features stay free for everyone, and the library is built by users, with guides for creating characters and for importing them. It is also one of the few platforms that tells you its memory size in plain numbers instead of calling it long-term and leaving it there.
It is run by NextDay AI, with offices listed in Canada, the United States and Cyprus. If what you want is a huge, ever-changing cast of characters, it is still one of the strongest answers, and nothing below beats it on variety.
What SpicyChat's pricing page tells you
Read the subscribe page from the bottom up and the free experience comes into focus. The paid tiers add chat without ads and skipping the waiting line, which tells you the free plan has both. Get a Taste, at $5.95 a month, is the tier that removes the ads, and its memory is listed as 4K context.
- Memory: 4K at $5.95, 8K at $19.95 (True Supporter), 32K at $29.95 (I'm All In).
- Pictures: in-chat images start at the $19.95 tier.
- Voice: spoken replies only at the $29.95 tier.
- Billing: monthly or annual, with the annual option advertised at 17% off.
None of that is unreasonable. It does mean that the three things companion users ask for most, memory, pictures and voice, each sit on a different rung.
SpicyChat alternatives by what they fix
More memory per dollar: CrushOn
CrushOn's free plan lists 8K memory, double SpicyChat's first paid tier, alongside 100 message credits a month. Its Standard plan, $4.90 a month billed annually, opens 16K memory models. The catch is on the same page: free chat history is deleted after 7 days of inactivity, and premium models cost credits on top of the plan.
Voice and calls without the top tier: Muah AI
Muah's homepage lists text, voice, photos, video and live calls, and lets you open a demo chat in the browser before you sign in. Plan prices are shown in the app rather than on public pages, so check what each format costs there.
Bring your own model: Janitor
Janitor keeps SpicyChat's community-library shape, counts more than 15 million users, and lets you connect other models through a proxy. Its own help center is candid about the trade: its model holds around 8,000 to 9,000 tokens, and long-term memory is a template you maintain by hand. We covered it in detail in Janitor AI alternatives.
No ads and no queue, ever: SillyTavern
SillyTavern is an open-source frontend that installs on your own computer and connects to local or hosted models, from KoboldCpp to OpenRouter. There is no queue because there is no shared server. You supply the model and the hardware, and memory is yours to manage.
Memory and pictures without tiers: Jizzy
Jizzy is ours, so weigh this one. There are no tiers to climb: memory runs across sessions, devices and months for every account, photos and clips are available from the first day, and you pay per use in jizz, from one-time $9.99 packs, with nothing renewing. A photo is 10 jizz, clips start at 25, and texts past the free allowance cost 1 jizz per 10 messages.
Where it loses to SpicyChat: 66 companions instead of a community library, no character import, and no voice at any price. If variety is the point, stay where the variety is.
Whichever you try, test the thing you are leaving for. If it is memory, plant a fact, a feeling and a joke on night one and see what survives three days. Our explainer on how AI companion memory works shows why the number on a pricing page is only part of the answer.
FAQ
What is the best SpicyChat alternative?
Pick by what you want fixed. For more memory per dollar, CrushOn, whose free plan lists 8K memory. For voice and calls, Muah. For bringing your own model, Janitor or SillyTavern. For memory and pictures without climbing tiers, Jizzy, which is ours.
Is SpicyChat free?
Its documentation says the core features stay free for everyone. The paid tiers, from $5.95 a month, add chat without ads, skipping the waiting line, and more memory, with in-chat images from $19.95 and voice replies at $29.95.
How much memory does SpicyChat have?
Its subscribe page lists 4K context on Get a Taste ($5.95 a month), 8K on True Supporter ($19.95) and 32K on I'm All In ($29.95). Context is how much of the conversation the model can see at once, which is only part of what makes a companion remember you.
Is there a SpicyChat alternative with no ads?
SillyTavern runs on your own computer, so there are no ads and no queue, though you supply the model. Hosted options differ: check each pricing page, since several, SpicyChat included, keep ads on the free plan.
Can I move my characters from SpicyChat?
It depends on the destination. Some character platforms accept imported characters; Jizzy does not, so you would rebuild her in the builder from her look, her personality and how she knows you.
