What changed in 2023?

In February 2023, days after Italy's data protection authority acted against the app, Replika removed its chatbot's ability to engage in erotic talk, paying users included. Later that year it restored the feature, but only for accounts created before that February.

What do Replika's terms say now?

The terms, last updated March 30, 2026, say you must be 18 or over and prohibit uploading content that is vulgar, obscene or pornographic. They do not describe a separate adult tier.
